Re: Tobmar Group of Companies operating in US as Gateway Newstands:

We would like to go on record to say that we have found the above named franchise operator as a worthy, respectable, totally aboveboard company to do business with.

My business partner had previously owned two gift shop/newstands in the New York area so we decided to look for a store in the Tampa, Florida. Fortunately, we found Tobmar. Before we found this company we found several other, unscrupulous, dealers, brokers and so called 'honest businessmen all offering & 'great business for sale'. Luckily, we are two intelligent ladies who do nothing without researching it first.

From our first meeting with David Goldman and Michael Aychentall, and receiving the UFOC (disclosure statement) and discussing the FTC' s (Federal Trade Commission) Franchise Rules we
knew we were dealing with professionals. We were supplied with references (we called them all!) and double checked their validity. We did our homework it was the best thing we could have done. David and Michael were always available for those first 'nervous' days. From the building of the store and constant support provided when problems arose, we opened In December '92 and the rest, as they say, is history. They fight your battles when you need them to and give you the freedom to develop your own very special store!

We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending the Tobmar Group, with David Goldman and Michael Aychentall at the helm. We are currently looking for a new location, In conjunction with the above, to open a second store.

As you are aware, I had no experience in the business prior to dealing with you and I am happy that we were able to finalize the deal, set up the fixtures, arrange for the opening inventory, and get the store off on the right foot, with your help.

The store sales were slow at the beginning, however, over time l have been able to develop a personal relationship with the tenants of our building, which is financially rewarding.
